This summer, Statesboro School of Dance students attended Joffrey Dance Intensives in Athens, Georgia, and private lessons with William Starrett, director of the Columbia City Ballet.

Ceci Smith, daughter of Jeffery and Amy Smith attended Joffrey’s Summer Intensive in Athens, Georgia for one week in June.

In July, Katherine and Harper Whitlock, daughters of Austin and Heather Whitlock, attended a private lesson with William Starrett in Columbia, SC. Mr. Starrett is Ms. Shay’s former director from when she danced with the Columbia City Ballet.

Summer Intensives and private lessons are a great way for dancers to improve their technique and gain a wider perspective on dance.
